What it takes to make a noir film part 2

First, you need a very well written script, that can help the ease of the people following the story.
The setting should take place in a city where its filled with crime, gangsters, etc. The cops are crooked and there is no justice for anyone. Which is why I like stories based around comic book; like the shadow or even the early days of of Detective Comics. Which has the first appearance of Batman, but sadly there aren't only a few comics that are based around the noir genre.

Second, the important part is choosing the right actor and actress. I would like to choose actors like Bruce Willis to actress kim basinger. Because you need an actor would can truly take on the character, he or she will be acting. A really good example of a visual/film/video game, I have heard of is called LA Noire. Its the first game thast theme is based around a neo-noir story.

The story is set in 1940s los angeles, and the main character you play who is a young beat cop. In which you rise threw the ranks of patrol, traffic, homicide, vice, and arson of the police department. But at the same time he is haunted by his past from serving in marines fight in the pacific theater. I really don't want to give to much of the story away. Because its really long story, when I first heard about the game being made. The story was mixed with different elements from a few films(The Naked City and Chinatown). And the novel LA Confidential written James Elroy.

What makes these films different from the others, film noir set no limits. It shows you what truly life was like a cop chasing down bad guys. Or gangsters hunting down cops for interfering with their racketing. Like in the recent film of Gangster Squad(2013) about a group of cops who bend the rules to get there man. That guy is the notorious gangster Mickey Cohen, its the type of film that takes elements from the film the untouchables(1987) and an old article from the 1940s los angles times. But over all it was interesting film to watch, with an amazing cast. The setting was fully shot all over los angles county.

My views on film noir part 1

Film noir, is a type of film that is dark, these are types of film that show the good guy never get the bad
guy. Because they always out-smart the cops, and other gangsters. They have scenes of lust for love, shouts, etc. If you think about it for a second, its like watching an early version of a rated R film. But a at that time there wasn't much of a rating system, when it came to rating theses "noir films".

The first noir film that was shown in the US was called Detour(1945) that got a lot of buzz. Which helped pave the way for other films like: Double Indemnity, and  Murder My Sweet(1944). But the interesting part is that in two films called: Kiss Me Deadly(1955) and Cry of the City(1948).Woman are shown as tough, sexually, etc. That can show by force to get information, or to make a stand and say to the man; no more mrs nice gal, buster.

My favorite two films part 2 of 2

Then secondly, my most favorite horror/comedy film called Shaun of the Dead (2004) which is based off a parody of George A. Romero zombie films. But with British a twist, this film was directed by British filmmaker Edgar Wright. This would also be his first feature film, I'm going to show a scene from film. What I like about most this scene is that the main charter doesn't know, that around him the dead walking around. To him he thinks its just regular day for him, and the interesting part is that as soon as he walks outside of his house to the liqueur store. Which its a continuous shot just for that one scene.

My two favorite films part 1 of 2

To start off I would like to say I have more than two films that I enjoy the most, I'm going to talk about the
film I like the most. Number one: Back To The Future (1985) directed by Robert Zemeckis. I'm going to show a clip for film. It shows how the main character's father(George) taking a stand to a bully (Biff). Since this film deals with time travel I can see how the main character's parents(George and Lorrine)truly met. In a way its a bit of turn point for (Marty) the main character, but the interesting part George didn't  know it was Biff in the car with future mother. He thought was it going to be his friend Marty at first, but he was dead wrong.

The two films I viewed

Today I had just finished watching a film called Le Voyage dan lune (1902) directed by a french filmmaker
George Melies. After watching this film, I thought to myself, for a movie just made over a hundred years ago, alot has changed. I can see how this film was very cutting edge of its time, its not too often that you see moving scenery shown in a film. To me it feels like as if I were watching a live play with no dialog, if the narrator didn't explain the story. I think I would have a better understanding of the film. The part I found interesting that the moon is really a man, that has alot make up on his face.

The second film I watch was called the The great train robbery (1903) directed by Edwin S. Porter. What I like about this most about this film, there's no narrator to tell you for every scene of the film. This type of film you have to figure out whats going to happen next, than having someone tell. This film is really simple easy to follow since there's no lines to hear. What I also like about it that was a western theme film, because there's posse of robbers that hold up a train station's ticket clerk. Then they taken train that's just left the station, then press forward down the rail, stop the train and then get on horseback, and escape. But than the local marshals get word of the robbery, and they find out where they may be. Next they find there camp, and justice has been done.

What makes a great movie?

When ever I see a film that made by directors Steven Spielberg or Christopher Nolan,
I have to wonder if there films are going to be pick (like The Dark Knight Rises or Jurassic Park).
Those kind of films that are pick by the Academy Awards or the Golden Globes.
The important key notes that I look for in a film, is first and foremost is the story.
You really need a good story that the audience can follow. Personally, from seeing novels turn films its quite a challenge. When trying to take every bit of the story and cramming it into a one-half hour or two-half hour    length film. But importantly its not fair to leave out the important parts of the story like from a graphic novel(comic book). Which is always a huge mistake when some directors and writers don't really try to mix in a good amount of superhero's background, other characters that really close to our hero, and how the hero or superhero got his powers. In which the same can go for the villains as well, which is best not rush a super hero type film. Trust me, I've seen quite a few films that were okay or they could have done better.
Music is also an imported part of a film, its the soundtrack that makes the mood for the film's opening scene,
a dramatic scene of someone pasting away. A great example has to be John Williams, who did the scoring to the Indiana Jones series, and the Star Wars. His scores go hand and hand with the following of the story, that it sounds like you're in
hearing a live play keeping a good place with the actors.

Film Criteria
